Spring/Summer 2018 Looks to have on your Radar March 28 2018

We had a busy winter buying for the long awaited, warm weather days in New England. At the shows we saw Spring trends that were bright, bold while some more demure and relaxed.

Echoing from the Versace Runway, expect to see power dressing with color as key and a strong 80's vibe. Silhouettes are in place with string shoulders, nipped belted waists and long legs. Puffs and frills with exaggerated volume steal the show.

Ruffles have added a feminine flair again this season, shown here Erdem on the runway and our must have Trina Turk Ruffle ruffle dress.

Vintage Florals are omnipresent this spring. Flowers of all style are back with demure and flirtation.

Plastic, yes PLASTIC is the new cool from apparel to transparent shoes is a style that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Pastels, think ice-cream hues were a big trend on the cat walk and is the perfect time of year to bring in to your wardrobe. We are in lust over this number.

The Latest January 30 2016

We feverishly kicked off 2016 with a circuit of trade shows and meetings with designers for our Spring collections. What better way to ward of winter woes than with glimpses into perky Spring and Resort styles? While in the midst of adding new designers to our boutique, here's a sneak peek of what is arriving and what we are crushing on...

Raffia & Pom Poms
The tassel trend has expanded into pom poms, and we're hopping on board.

Currently Coveting... April 26 2015

FINALLY…….we can confidently welcome spring. The warmer weather is the perfect time to unveil your personal style as you shed off winter layers. We are beyond excited about our accessories’ collection for the season.

Whether you are looking to update your wardrobe with a statement stud or for that extra special Mother’s Day gift, here are some of our favorite luxe looks that we are currently coveting.

These aren't your typical Victorian pearls. With mixed metals, floating settings, and contrasting shapes, pearls have made their mark this season as true statement jewelry.

Gracing almost every runway show at New York Fashion Week, fringe is having its turn in the spotlight. Go for a fringe tassel on your clutch for a subtle take on the trend, or go all out in fringe jewelry (and layering is always a do).

Whether you're beach bound tomorrow or you have to wait a few more weeks, you can get your style ready now. From beachy florals to organic statement necklaces, your resort-wear can now be worn 24/7.

So grab a few pieces and get ready to take on the season in style!

Breaking Fall Trends 2014 – Feathers and Birds November 05 2014

NY, London, Milan, Paris Fashion Weeks–Fashion designers flocked to two distinct micro trends this season: feathers and birds. Whether embellishing their designs with actual feathers or using bird motifs in prints, knits, or accessories this trend is flying high!

Feathers have a bit of retro glamour and sophistication to them. They are somewhere between fab costume & a demure fashion forward style.  Sported as apparel, it  appears to dance and move at the slightest wind blow and is irresistible.

How to wear feathers without looking overdone? Instead of draping yourself in feathers choose one item. Here, a luxe skirt spotted at Second Time around by Calypso St. Barth is one of our faves.

Worn as an accessory, feather motifs take on a more organic vibe. Here are some feather faves with a touch of gold and glam. Shop these looks at ChicStreets.com.

Mother's Day Musings: For that Stylish Mom! May 02 2014

This Mother's Day, it's easy to indulge Mom on any budget. Whether you're helping her break out of her style shell or picking out bold pieces you know she'll love, here are our favorite options:

1. A G Pavé-Trim bracelet, perfect to stack with the other bracelets you've (of course) got her over the years.

2. Delicate and sentimental, a pavé Infinity necklace shows infinite Love for any mom.

3. A springtime accent that never goes unnoticed, get her the attention she deserves in a Tail Feathers scarf.

4. A statement necklace is a winner for the statement-making mom.

5. Give the bohemian, Kate Hudson-esque mom a Mini Agate Arrowhead necklace. As seen on Rachel Ray.

6. A touch of the exotic is never too far with a Wood Tassel bracelet.

7. The perfect pair of studs: elegant enough for mom but stylish enough for you to borrow.

8. A carryall Cava tote in a yummy dew color. Need we say more?

The Western influence in accessories continues in the Prairie/Cowgirl trend. Steer heads and bohemian beads are a popular motif in jewelry, while rawhide (as well as calf hair) makes its way to belts and handbags. Feathers also add to the rustic, prairie girl look. Now, go hit the range!

Keep your Summer Glow this Fall September 23 2013

After a impromptu jaunt to the mall last week, I found myself smack in the middle of the make-up department at Nordstrom. Usually overwhelmed, I found myself in the hands of a young, beautiful girl with a natural glow. I chalked it up to youth until she quickly had me in her chair with 3 of her secret weapons. Luckily my make-up drawer already had this must-have concealer from Yves Saint Laurent. Michaela, the beauty guru informed me to add it above my brow, aside from the usual under eye dark circles and above the cheekbones for added pop.

Touche Eclat- Radiant Touch from Yves Saint Laurent

Next we moved on to a 30 second demonstration for eye popping brows. With the Dior Brow Styler , she lightly shaded my eyes with this pencil from Christian Dior, offered in one universal brown color. My brows now had me looking much more polished.

My favorite find of the day was this all-in-one bronzer from Christian Dior- Diorskin Nude Tan. Never have I received so many compliments at how good my makeup looked just from this one purchase. It gives a "real glow" not too orange, not too pink, but a perfect blend of four colors in one palate. Simply blend them with it's accompanying brush in a "C" from cheek over the eye and you are good to go, claimed my new beauty goddess. She wasn't kidding...we got some extra head turning that day!xo

If you are in the Boston area, be sure to pop in Nordstrom at the North Shore Mall and see Michaela Angelo for that special glow.

Spring 2013 Trend: Sorbet Dreams June 13 2013

Playing Up Neutrals

This spring we’re loving the Izzy & Ali Rosa bag for every occasion. We grabbed the mint, violet and blush color options to show how you can get this look for every style.

Never tried pastels or don’t want to go too overboard? A pale blue pastel coordinates perfectly with an outfit made up of white and gray, while a blush tone would match with camel and other browns or tans. The fringe on the bag up against a neutral outfit adds another element of edge to the leather jacket and platforms. Using fringe and chains as your primary accessories is sure to give you that model street style look every girl craves.

Spring Night Out

From weddings to cocktail parties – adding a touch of pastel is a great way to add dimension to a look. Izzy & Ali’s Rosa bag has become a staple for us, especially on elegant nights out. Take a simple black dress and accessorize with sleek and neutral accessories – we’ve gone with thin gold hoops and nude sandals. Then add the violet version of this bag for a touch of femininity while still keeping the outfit streamlined and sexy.

Sitting Pretty

For the girly girls out there, try mixing your pastels. We paired the blush version of this bag with a pastel teal dress for a subtle colorblocking technique. Add a few romantic accessories – like an ornate gold necklace or a few gold bangles – and you’re good to go! The fringe on the bag will come across as a delicate embellishment, perfectly complimenting your look.

Whether you’re heading to the office or heading out to dinner, incorporate a little pastel into your outfit and just wait for your mood to instantly lighten!

Chic on the Streets May 01 2013

Our team recently hit the streets of some of the chicest cities, scouting the latest trends and the best style inspiration. One thing we've learned: with the right accessories, you can run any town.

Dare to Be Bold: Take your summer wardrobe essentials from simple to standout with an accessory in a Hot Hue bold color like Cobalt Blue, Mustard, and Emerald Green. For an extra punch add in an over-sized clutch.

Black and White: Geometric shapes are dominant as are solid black paired with white ensembles. Get the Look by paring a black tank, try a faux leather with white skinny jeans paired with all-black extras. Embellish with a long layered necklace.

Punk and Pastel: Breaking the rules by mixing up some sweet and spikes is a look to covet! From strappy sandals with spikes in a soft cream color to sherbert color leather wraps with studs we spotted this trend on the streets for women who like to add a little edge to their ensemble.

Haute Heels: On the rise are Strappy Sandals from flats to heels. The more strap and wrap the better. Looks we loved were with monochromatic palettes, metallic accents paired with fierce heels.
